Dry and bright across the North West with an easing breeze
After the odd early light shower near Irish Sea coasts, today will be dry for the vast majority with sunny spells developing. Cloud amounts will be a little greater over Cumbria and the Pennine fringe at times, but most of Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire enjoy a fine, pleasant day.
A brisk northwesterly wind will gradually ease, with gusts of 20 to 26 mph on exposed coasts around midday dropping back to under 15 mph by evening. Highs of 15C to 17C, feeling pleasant in the sunshine.
Tonight will be mostly dry with clear spells, turning chilly in rural areas with lows of around 6C to 9C. Cloud arrives from the west later, ahead of a wetter, blustery Thursday afternoon.
